David & Christina Wilkinson |
David & Christina Wilkinson, founders of Art Quotient Art Annual are co-owners of Sabre Design & Publishing. Sabre Design & Publishing was located in the Las Vegas valley for over 10 years and relocated to Groveland, California in June 2004.
Christina has been an artist since she was old enough to pick up a crayon and draw on walls. She won numerous awards throughout her time in school including receiving an art scholarship to a specialized summer school when she was only 15 and Bank of America presented her with an award as a senior in high school. Upon graduation she entered the U.S. Air Force for 10 years where she was able to use her talents in graphic design. She received an art award at George Air Force Base and while on temporary duty at Kulis Air National Guard Base she was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for creating artwork for a major air show that took place. After leaving the military she relocated with her family to Henderson, Nevada and became the Art Director for two major publishing companies spanning 9 years. She now works full-time as the Art Director for Sabre Design. Christina is still a traditional artist who uses watercolor, pen & ink, pencil and color pencil. She exhibits and sells artwork of her own periodically. She continues to volunteer and work with many other nonprofit organizations such as KidsCharities.org, Clark County Museum Guild, and Hwy 120 Chamber, as well as many others.
Both her and David were active members of the Clark County Graphics Joint Technical Skills Committee. They also served as co-judges for the 2001 State of Nevada VICA competition.
David has been an artist since he was a little boy. He comes from a family of engineers so he was able to adapt to creation easily at an early age. He won numerous awards throughout his school years and created a lot of the artwork for his schools to include the sports teams. His architectural renderings were so advanced for a high school student, he frequently did work for well-known architects in designing custom homes that are now built. He found a niche at his high school for theatre too, so upon graduation he attended college immediately and chose a major in Theatre Arts. While in college at Fresno City College he won the Special Excellence Award in Theatre which is the highest award anyone in Theatre had ever been given. This award, having been established years prior, was presented the first time ever with David being the first recipient. At San Jose State he designed stage sets, costumes, and lighting designs for productions. He also used his design skills in smaller theatre venues around the Bay Area. Soon after graduating college David was offered a lighting position at the MGM Grand Hotel working the ?EFX? show with ?Phantom of the Opera? star Michael Crawford. David became the youngest lighting director in the state of Nevada within months after moving. He was offered the prestigious position at ?EFX? and programmed the world?s largest lighting system along-side Tony award-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz. After a few years with ?EFX?, Siegfried & Roy offered him a position in lighting at The Mirage. He left The Mirage in 2002 upon the urging of Siegfried & Roy?s Publicist Frank Lieberman to instead become their Creative Director through Sabre Design.
